Castle Crashers starts with a mysterious man snatching a large (and what I assume is also expensive) crystal and four lovely princesses from the King's throne. As one of the knights of the castle, it is your duty to retrieve the stolen goods and fair maidens. There's no dialogue, so you won't get more of a story than that unless you use your imagination.
Sketch Turner is an artist in New York City, One day while Sketch is drawing there is a huge thunderstorm and a bolt of lightning hits Sketch's image bringing it to life. That image is Mortus, a megalomaniac mutant who wants to become real and rule the earth. Mortus magically transports Sketch into the pages of his comic book so that he can end his creator's life and become real.
in Akimi Village, you're asked to help a group of tiny folks build up their tiny community, You turn into either a skinny, headband-wearing boy or a skinny girl with middle-parted hair shaped like a butt. Whichever you choose, you wake in a strange land where a seemingly benevolent raccoon tells you you've been whisked from your home to Akimi Island.
"Rise from your grave" is the call to action as Greek god Zeus commands you, a long-dead warrior, to resurrect yourself and save his kidnapped daughter. Astro Tripper is very much inspired by traditional top-down shooters as it places you in control of a trusty little spaceship with the means to destroy a whole host of nasty alien bad guys, Your ship is fixed at an angle and can only be turned to face forwards or backwards. Obviously you can fly your ship around the stage in any direction, but you'll only be able to fire via two set orientations.
Beyond Good & Evil’s world is one of wonder and colour, a science fiction fantasy universe which will constantly surprise and delight. There are a few slight missteps that we can only assume come part in parcel with renovating such an old game, occasionally the animations are a bit wonky, and some of the environments are a bit flat and empty, but the bigger picture has Beyond Good & Evil as a rich canvas indeed.
